Apple Tree Grafting - CANCELLED

26 March 2013 - 10:00am - 1:00pm

Event details

26 March 2013 - 10:00am - 1:00pm

Come and learn how to graft apple trees! This ancient skill will allow you to propagate apple varieties – something especially important for conserving traditional Welsh varieties. Course tutor Robert Boyle will provide a variety of apple tree shoots to choose from and five rootstocks per person free of charge; additional rootstocks will be available to purchase from the trainer. Of course, feel free to bring your own graft wood if you have a special variety you would like to propagate. Contact GWT for guidance on cutting and storing graft wood (best collected in January). A grafting knife will be required for each participant. If you don’t have one, you can order one in advance (we need four weeks notice to order) and pay £15 cash on the day to the tutor. Additional rootstocks are available for cash on the day at £1.50 each.
