A gentle stroll through the beautiful wet grassland meadows of our Kingsthorpe Meadows Local Nature Reserve
Kingsthorpe Meadows Health Walks are for everyone who has an interest in wildlife and would like to meet new people whilst getting a bit of exercise. There is also an oppotunity to assit the reserves team in maintaing the presentation of the reserve by carrying out litter picks as you walk.
This informal group meets every Wednesday at 10.30am to 12 noon at St John's Baptist Church Meeting Rooms (behind the church). From here we take a gentle stroll onto the reserve through beuitful grassland meadows and by rushing streams. We walk in all weathers and spot different wildlife, observe the changing seasons and have good chat.
The walks are suitable for all those who are steady on their feet as there are no paved footpaths on the reserve and it is often wet, muddy and uneven underfoot. Children are welcome under supervioson from a responsable adult. Unfortunatly due to the nature of the footpaths the reserve is unaccessable to pushchair and wheelchair users.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are proved afterwards for a small donation to cover the cost of hiring the hall.
