An illustrated talk by film maker Steve Nicholls, organised by the Forest of Dean Area Group

Orchid flowers are symbols of romance and love, yet in reality nothing could be further from the truth. Orchids are masters of deceit and lies and indulge in some very strange sexual antics. As well as illustrating the intriguing secret life of orchids, this talk also looks behind the scenes at the making of a TV documentary that aims to show orchids in a new light. Most of the subjects are species that can be found in Gloucestershire or neighbouring counties, with an occasional visit to more exotic climes

This event has been organised by the Forest of Dean Area Group of the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. Non members are welcome at all our meetings. For further details contact the Area Group chairman Philip Mugridge on 01594 510384.
