Event details

30 October 2012 - 10:00am - 3:00pm

Have you ever wondered what’s involved in looking after woodland? Join SWT’s South Team Rangers and volunteers at Chinthurst Hill this half term to see exciting demonstrations of coppicing, hedge laying, tree felling, timber extraction and conversion. Have a go at splitting a chestnut post or come on a guided walk. Noise, sawdust and bonfires guaranteed! Subject to confirmation we hope to have mobile sawmilling, horse drawn logging and possibly some pigs foraging for acorns!

The event will run from 10am – 3pm, but you may still explore the reserve outside these times. Certain attractions are subject to confirmation. Please consult SWT Ranger Leo Jennings for more details.
