Work on our new wetland habitat is well underway. Visitors are invited to come along on the 8th September to join our 10th Anniversary. There will be plenty to see and do, including guided tours of the reserve, a variety of children’s activities, demonstrations such as bird ringing and snath making, along with refreshments and a BBQ.
Visitors to Langford Lakes should keep an eye out for ducks such as Mallard, Madwall, Tufted Ducks and Pochard. During the winter, Langford Lakes is an ideal place to see Shoveler and Wigeon among its visiting wildfowl population. Kingfishers and Great Crested Grebe are found here all year round. Migrating birds, waders, terns and Osprey all visit and the lake is also home to other species such as dragonfly, with incredible displays of wetland flowers. Lucky visitors may even spot the elusive water vole.
This event is part of The Wildlife Trusts' Our Wetland Wildlife events, which are being held all across the UK.
