Glow Worm Count
2 July 2012 - 9:30pm

Event details
2 July 2012 - 9:30pm
Join in a glow worm count on Upton Heath
Glow worms are regularly recorded on our Upton Heath reserve, turning up as casual records each year.
This year we aim to 'count the lights', to enable us to pinpoint the hotspots and gain an estimate of the status of glow worm on the Heath. The vast majority of the counts will take place along the edges of the main paths - so there is no need to worry about stumbling across the site in the dark!
We will be going out in small groups, accompanied by an experienced leader. Please ensure you wear suitable clothing and footwear. You are welcome to bring a torch along, although we aim to limit the use of these as much as possible during the counts.
Dogs on leads are welcome.
Meet at the Urban Wildlife Centre, Beacon Hill Lane, Corfe Mullen, BH21 3RX at 9.30pm for briefing and sorting into groups.
