Event details

23 June 2012 - 10:00am - 4:00pm

Join Andrew Brown from Dorset Dragonflies on a day exploring these amazing insects at our Kingcombe Centre.

The Kingcombe Centre, on the river Hooke, with two of its own ponds makes it an ideal location to introduce you to these beautiful insects. A detailed look at the life cycle and ecology of dragonflies.

We will be looking for adults as well as pond dipping and locating exuvia (old body cases) outdoors, complementing classroom sessions covering habitat and distribution, ecology, methods of identification and how to distinguish dragonflies from damselflies in the field.
