Event details
19 May 2012 - 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Join us down at the shore at Crawfordsburn Country Park, as we search for marine life as part of the all-Ireland BioBlitz.
Get up close and personal, and learn unbelievable facts about some of the life you find on the sea shore. Find out which creature has to eject its stomach in order to eat and how toothpaste and ice-cream are linked to the sea!
You’ll also search for animals and plants which may indicate signs of climate change and feed your results into a national database, as part of the Shore Thing Project.
Join us at 3pm and 4pm on the shore at Crawfordsburn Country Park . Please bring suitable footwear and clothing for walking on the uneven wet and slippy shore. All ages welcome.
A Bioblitz is a race against the clock to find as many species as possible within 24 hours in a defined location. Crawsfordsburn Country Park is one of four sites across Ireland partcipating on the same day.
