Event details
6 May 2012 - 12:00pm - 4:30pm
Spring is the time to go in search of the rare spring gentians in Teesdale.
After a picnic (optional, bring your own food) at the meeting point, we will follow the easy track for about 1.5km towards the eastern end of the reservoir along the Widdybank Fell Nature Trail, looking out for flowers on the way. The more energetic may continue the walk unaccompanied to see Cauldron Snout waterfall, which will add about 2km to the total distance. The terrain may be easy but the weather is less predictable, and warm and waterproof clothing is essential. Afterwards, it may be possible to have a cup of tea at the Langdon Beck Hotel in Teesdale. Donations are welcomed.
