FULLY BOOKED. More Reptile events on 10th June and 24th July.
Want to learn how and where to find lizards, snakes and slow worms in their natural habitat? Join us deep in the Forest of Dean and we will show you how.
A local wildlife photographer will demonstrate where and how to look to not disturb the reptiles as they bask in the morning.
This heathland is scrubby and includes gorse and bramble thorns regularly. We will be walking through tall vegetation to find secluded sites for reptiles. Much of the ground is uneven with many narrow tree stumps to step between. The ground can be wet in places with frequent tall grassy tussocks.
Walking pace will be very slow. Venue is within 100m of parking.
Running around will send reptiles into cover, and so children will need to be still and quiet at times.
For more photographs of reptiles in the Forest of Dean, see the photographer's blog.
