26 October 2011 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Event details
26 October 2011 - 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Come along to Stirley Community Farm's food growing area for a free fun-filled afternoon for all the family!
Wrap up warm and come help us put the vegetable garden to bed for the winter. Learn how to protect winter crops from frost damage and how to store crops through the winter. Don’t forget to look after the creatures living in your garden too by making a mini-beast house to take home and give your wild garden friends a cosy place to live over the winter. By joining us for the afternoon you will also be among the first to plant fruit trees in our new orchard.
Charlotte Holgate, local food and conservation trainee said:
“The event will be the perfect way to round off the fantastically successful growing season we've had in the vegetable beds and open an exciting new chapter in Stirley Farm's local food story by laying the foundations for the new orchard.”
Hot drinks will be provided.
