FULLY BOOKED

Westley Farm Scrub Cutting - removing encroaching trees and shrubs from Marsh Fritillary breeding areas.

We need help from volunteers to create and maintain habitat for the Marsh Fritillary butterfly. In February 2011, we discovered several nests of caterpillars of this rare butterfly - a great reward for our hard work over the last few years. No experience necessary - bring tools if you have them but we can also supply enough to go around.

We will be clearing scrub to keep sunny glades open for many butterfly species on the farm including the Adonis Blue and the Pearl-bordered Fritillary.
It's a great way to find out more about our wildlife while doing something to help - and having a surprising amount of fun!

Lunch will be served in the barn kitchen, with cake and hot drinks on offer in the morning and afternoon.

Cost: Free Community Event Soup and rolls provided.
Tools and training provided - Wear stout clothing and boots
