Thank you for becoming a friend of your local Marine Conservation Zone and the network as a whole.

If you haven't already, please add your voice to the public consultation, in which the Government are proposing to designate 31 of the 127 Marine Conservation Zones put forward by stakeholders in 2011.

We need your help to ensure that these areas are just the start – have your say!

During the consultation period we will be emailing you with updates and details of further ways in which you can help! In the meantime, perhaps you can help us! If you're lucky enough to live close to your MCZ or visit it during a holiday or diving trip then send us your videos and photographs.

Why not write a short letter to your local MP highlighting the campaign and why you have decided to become a friend of your Marine Conservation Zone; using the factsheets you could also highlight some of the species and habitats which will be protected if the zone is designated by the government. Remember to keep you letter short and personal to you and your Marine Conservation Zone.

We would love to hear from you if you do write to your local MP as they often write back and we are keen to hear what they say. Please do let us know by sending us an email.

If you’re not sure how to contact your local MP or what to put in your letter we have provided a brief ‘how to’ guide, which you can download below.

And finally we know many of you like to tweet so why not start using #FriendsofMCZs

Campaigner’s resources

As the campaign progresses we shall be adding all the resources you may need below. The 127 Marine Conservation Zone PDF is to accompany the factsheets for each MCZ which you can download from their dedicated page.

If you have an idea for a helpful resource then let us know and we shall see what we can do!
