Learn to identify and study British millipedes and centipedes with Paul Richards.

This joint Nature Counts/ Sorby Natural History Society workshop will introduce you to the 'Myriapods'; many legged mini beasts that are essential decomposers and pest predators. Millipedes and Centipedes may have a lot of legs, but are quite different in their lifestyles, although they tend to be found in similar habitats. We will spend a day looking at how they live, what value they are to an ecosystem and how to recognise many of the local Sheffield species. There will be indoor tuition and an opportunity to search for some common species as well as a rare speciality of Ecclesall woods.
