About the reserve

Little Holly Corner is a great example of an urban garden habitat - a local community space for wildlife in the heart of Sherwood.

This petite but valuable nature reserve has recently benefitted from a massive makeover, with new fencing, trees, nest boxes, benches and a new information panel. With both trees and grassy areas, it is a good place to go to sit and watch the garden birds and the butterflies flitting around, on a spring or summer day.
A range of interesting wildflowers thrive here, many with wonderful names including common star of Bethlehem, lesser celandine and wood anemone. Also look out for bluebells and wild daffodils in spring. Wildflower grassland is an important wildlife habitat. Over the last 50 years Britain has lost around 98% of its wildflower meadows but with your support, we can create new spaces like this, for the wonderful animals, birds and insects that rely on this threatened habitat for their survival.
