Unpaid Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve Volunteer Placement

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is the leading nature conservation charity in the two counties. For more than 50 years we have protected wildlife and inspired others to love nature.

We are looking for someone keen to enter a career in conservation based education to join our team at Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve for six months from February 2018. The successful applicant will assist with;

• delivery of environmental education and guided walks to groups and visitors at Swanwick Lakes under the supervision of the education staff.
• day to day running of the centre, helping to develop and promote the education resources.
• Occasional practical conservation work such as habitat surveys.

The post will be unpaid, but you will be provided with in-house training and gain a wealth of experience in these areas of work. You are asked to make a commitment to volunteering with the Trust over a six-month period (2 to 3 days per week), but the specific details of this can be negotiable.

Due to the nature of the work this role is for over 18s only and subject to a DBS check.

Duration: Six months from February 2018; 2-3 days per week.
