Marketing and Communications Manager

Salary: Within salary band D £25,000 - £35,000 pa, starting usually below midpoint of grade, but depending on qualifications and experience; permanent position; full-time 35 hours per week; based at Curdridge, near Botley, Hampshire

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is the leading local nature conservation charity and is one of the largest of the county-based Wildlife Trusts with a lively, dedicated and passionate team of 100 staff and 700 volunteers. As part of a new 5 year strategic plan, this new post will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of the Trust’s marketing and communications work right across the organisation.

The Marketing and Communications Manager’s brief will be to drive forward the collective effort of promoting the value, impact and quality of the Trust’s work. He/she will lead, coordinate and monitor the implementation of the Communications strategy, and to develop an overall Marketing strategy, of which the Communications strategy will be an important component. The role will also be involved with working with other teams to promote and support the development of focused campaigns and PR.

Excellent communication and influencing skills will be critical to the success of this position so it is essential that you are able to demonstrate solid achievements in Marketing and Communications, ideally in the voluntary sector. You must also have a good understanding of the use of social media and other e-based marketing tools and their potential. You should have experience of evaluating project outcomes, using agreed metrics.
