Hardwick Green Meadows Project Officer

Salary: c£21,000 per annum pro rata

We are looking for an inspiring person to deliver Worcestershire Wildlife Trust’s Hardwick Green Meadows project to engage people in the heritage of these wonderful and rare floodplain meadows.

Hardwick Green Meadows are a collection of seven meadows over a 50 acre/20 hectare site in Eldersfield Marsh, in the southwestern corner of Worcestershire. The meadows include nationally and internationally rare floodplain meadows. The purpose of the Heritage Lottery Fund supported project is to engage local community groups and local schools in the heritage of these meadows and others in the surrounding area. Activities will include an oral history project with the local community and schools, a new cycle route around traditional hay meadows and a series of guided walks and talks for and to local groups. 

Using a range of techniques, can you engage with community groups and schools concerning the importance of wildlife, conservation, the natural environment and the work of the Trust? If so, this role may be for you.

The Project Officer will be responsible for the successful management and delivery of this project in line with the project funding agreement, in a range of settings. You will need experience of delivering projects and of engaging a range of people in the importance of wildlife and conservation. 

Regular evening and weekend working will be required and a full clean driving license is essential. This is a part-time (14hrs/week) position, on a 2-year fixed-term contract.

Based at Lower Smite Farm, Hindlip, Worcester WR3 8SZ with regular travel required to in an around Eldersfield Marsh in southwest Worcestershire.
