Main Objectives
To contribute to the development of high quality external and internal communications encompassing media relations, digital communications, internal communications, printed literature, branding and corporate identity.
Key Responsibilities
- To support the Communications Manager and other Trust staff to deliver the Trust's Marketing and Communications Plan and to deputise in his/her absence.
- To fulfil a story gathering and development role for the Trust across all relevant media.
- To develop our links with local and national media and identify and pursue opportunities to raise the profile of the Trust.
- To write articles for key Trust publications and local feature media to increase awareness and support for the Trust's work to protect wildlife.
- To help develop and deliver communication campaigns which will engage the press, public, Trust members and staff and create persuasive communications to engage people with the Trust in its Centenary year – 2012.
- To provide engaging website content and ideas for how to enhance the site and ensure that the website reflects the passion and the priorities of the Trust and to enhance our profile on social media platforms.
- To maximise opportunities to raise the profile of the Trust and to provide warning for and minimise any issues which could harm the Trust's Reputation.
- To organise media interviews/photocalls and to help manage press and public events and to act, as required, as a Trust spokesperson.
- To take digital pictures and/or video and audio footage as required for promotional use and archive and to make sure permission for all photos and video is actively sought from all concerned so an up-to-date image library can be maintained.
- To act as a point of contact, along with the Communications Manager, for all staff in the Trust who require communications advice and support.
