Wildlife Trusts help make waves for climate justice
7th December, 2009
On Saturday 5 December, nearly 200 representatives from Wildlife Trusts across the UK gathered in London to take part in The Wave climate change march, organised by Stop Climate Chaos.
The day was a great success, with an astounding 50,000 people joining the blue-themed march which culminated in a giant Mexican wave.
Before the event, The Wildlife Trusts gathered in Berkeley Square, where Carlo Laurenzi, Chief Executive of London Wildlife Trust, made a speech, alongside Brian Eversham, Chief Executive of Beds, Cambs, Northants and Peterborough Wildlife Trust. Immediately afterwards, Gary Mantle, Director of Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and Brian Eversham attended a Q&A session with Climate Change Secretary Ed Miliband.
You can read extracts from the speeches and Gary’s diary of the day here: www.wildlifetrusts.org/index.php?section=events:winter:thewave.
