marine reserves petition

"50 years ago, there were many natural refuges in our seas - areas that were too remote or too difficult to exploit. Today, almost nowhere is out of reach."

Joana Doyle, Cornwall Wildlife Trust

Sign our petition - protect UK seas

The Wildlife Trusts are asking the Government to create Highly Protected Marine Reserves to protect important marine habitats and wildlife. Fishing, dredging and all damaging activities would be prohibited in these areas. Eco-tourism and leisure activities would continue, and would be managed so as not to disturb the wildlife.

Support the petition below and tell the Government that you want better protection for our seas.

Dear Mr Irranca-Davies,

It is critical that you include in the Marine Bill a system specifically for creating Highly Protected Marine Reserves.

Please complete all boxes.

Your petition response, including the contact details you supply, will be automatically sent to the Government as part of The Wildlife Trusts' Marine Bill Campaign. Your details will also be collected and stored by The Wildlife Trusts. We will not make your details available to any other party.
