Apple

Malus domestica

Height 8-12 m; bole up to 50 cm diameter. Deciduous. Crown is dome-shaped or rounded. Bark is grey-brown, smooth. Leaves are oval, slightly wider towards the base, toothed, dull green, 4.5-13 x 3-7 cm.

What habitats does it normally live in?

Widespread in temperate regions as a cultivated tree for its fruit.

What are its young like?

Flowers in April and May in clusters of four to seven flowers, pinkish or white. Fruit is well-known apple, 5-10 cm, green, russet or red in colour, depending on variety.
