Beginners Guide to Hoverflies

Event details

14 June 2018 - 10:00am - 3:00pm

Hoverflies aren’t just brilliant at batesian mimicry of wasps and bees. They are fantastic pollinators, indicator species and their larvae thrive under very specific conditions. During this workshop you'll find out more about what makes them so special and learn all about the wide variety of species and how to identify them.

This workshop, based at our new Holly Bank House venue, offers both and indoor presentation and an outdoor session to advance your hoverfly knowledge. Gowy Meadows, our largest reserve, adjacent to Holly Bank House offers a fantastic location to put your newly learnt skills to the test.
