An update by the Forestry Commission's Wildlife Ranger, Alan Reid. The 2,500-acre forest was once a Saxon hunting ground but now it is managed by the Forestry Commission to preserve rare species. The rare long-haired fallow deer, was discovered in the Forest during the 1950s.
