Training for Adults Supporting Forest School Leaders

Learn about the ethos of Forest School and skills such as fire lighting, knots and tool use.

This course will equip untrained helpers with knowledge and skills to enhance the Forest School and maximise their role as facilitator and supporting role for the Forest School leader.

Course content:
• The Forest School approach
• Developing social skills in children
• Independence, creativity and risk taking.
• Fire lighting skills
• Tool use and supporting children in crafting from wood
• Key knots for shelters, tree swings and rope walks
• Basic bug and tree identification
• Sharing ideas and experiences.
