Event details

21 May 2017 - 9:00am - 2:00pm

Experience the joy of bird watching in a relaxed series of courses and learn how to find and identify common species of birds to start off this fascinating hobby. You can take each course individually or several courses to build your knowledge of different bird species and their habitats. The South Hampshire marshes in May are alive with activity. Spring migration should be in full swing and you are never quite sure what you will see. This coastal visit will be followed with an option to continue, seeing what we can find in the New Forest woodlands looking for those summer visitors in their breeding grounds. Not much can match a summer plumage male Redstart.

Discover when and where to find birds and understand how they use the environments they live in. We will visit special places to find birds and look at how you can find birds in your local area. We will look at identification but with no pressure to get it right. And always remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question!
