Join Ely Local Group as we explore the specialist flora of Chettisham Meadows.

This ridge-and-furrow grassland has been managed as a traditional hay meadow for over a century – lately with help from the local group. It is famed for its green-winged orchids, of which there are many hundred. Other floral treats include cowslip, cuckoo flower and the elusive adder’s-tongue fern and all should be in flower at the time of our visit, providing a memorable display.

Walking boots advised.

Meet 6:45pm at Cathedral carpark (Barton Road, Ely, CB7 4JE) for car-sharing, or 7pm at Chettisham Church (CB6 1SB).
