Learn how to use hedgerow materials to create your own unique baskets. Please bring gloves and secateurs. We will be going outside onto the reserve to gather materials, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Tea and Coffee provided, but please bring your own lunch.

The course will start with a walk on the reserve gathering hedgerow materials such as ivy, bramble, hazel and willow.  You will see example baskets and be shown a range of techniques such as weaving to create your hedgerow basket.  Please bring along a pair of thick gardening gloves and a pair of secateurs.

You will be able to take away materials to complete your basket if you do not finish it on the day.

What to bring
Sturdy footwear suitable for muddy conditions (walking boots or Wellingtons) and warm, waterproof clothes suitable for the day’s weather conditions, we will go outside whatever the weather! Please bring along a pair of secateurs if you have them and a pair of thorn proof or thick gardening gloves.
You will need to bring lunch. Tea and Coffee will be provided.
